Water industry in Pen. Malaysia is facing an urgent need for restructuring. The present low tariffs are causing operators to hold back on much needed investments on CAPEX works without which the standard of services will suffer.

YB, we have been voicing this for a long time. unfortunately, powers in WSIA is not used wisely. streching WSIA’s power will cause more problem. the current water crisis is mainly planning issue. I hope YB could push for stronger reform.
Dear Piara,
I thought that you might like to know that even getting WSIA implemented is a struggle in view of some resistances that my team is getting. It is a first but necessary step to take since we have the legislation before us. More steps can be taken at a later stage when the restructuring process that my Ministry is embarking is completed satisfactorily.
